    Dr. Francis holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Calgary and an MPhil in Information Science from the University of Bergen, Norway. Francis was the VP of the Centre for Newcomers on research projects with community and academic researchers on critical and pertinent social sciences aimed at advancing the building of healthier communities. He has the power of collaboration to achieve collective impact and has successfully worked with settlement and non-settlement agencies on issues that matter to our community. He serves in many community leadership positions, including the current co-chair of the Calgary Anti-Racism Action Committee

    Shirley R. Steinberg is a Professor of Education at the University of Calgary. . Her Focus is on Critical and Transformative Leadership Critical Pedagogy Youth Studies and Community Activism, Social Justice Pedagogies Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Critical Media Literacies Qualitative Research/Interpretive Inquiry Women in Leadership.

Meet Moose, an accomplished Canadian community leader, mentor, and Founder of SIYS - Struggle is Your Success and currently serves as the Executive Director of this Organzation. With a wealth of experience in mentoring and inspiring youth towards success, Musap has made a remarkable impact on countless lives. His extensive expertise in trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing, coupled with his pursuit of a certificate in Innovation and Design Thinking from Harvard University, reflects his unwavering dedication to mentorship and community leadership.

Musap's approach to mentorship is focused on creating a vision and belief system that transcends barriers and struggles. He delivers powerful lectures on a variety of topics, including goal setting, strategies, dressing for success, organizational cultures, and professionalism. His track record of helping youth unearth their potential is remarkable. He believes that success is an extension of one's attitude.

In addition to his work as a community leader, Musap has served as a Student Services coordinator and manager, where he helped students achieve success through education. He also has experience as an IT analyst providing Tier 2,3 Deskside support to companies. Musap's experience working with community leaders and advocates from diverse backgrounds has given him valuable insights into building successful relationships and achieving meaningful results.

As an influential figure in the field of mentorship and facilitator, Musap has traveled to countries such as Sudan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, where he has worked with youth to inspire them to reach their goals and become their best selves. His unwavering commitment to inspiring and assisting others in achieving their dreams sets him apart as a remarkable leader in his field.
